c.1946 Marx Pressed Steel Twin Engine Airplane
Here's a rarely found, awesome looking, pressed steel Twin Engine Airplane by Marx. It was part of the Kaufman Collection recently sold by Bertoia Auctions and comes with the original auction hang tag. It's gorgeous, all pressed steel including the propellers. Tires are wooden. Intensely vivid silver painted fuselage, tail wing, rudder and propellers. The wide, single piece, main wing and the landing supports are deep cherry red. The toy is unsold store stock and never sold. Mr. Kaufman was its only owner. There is no box. When found it's frequently misidentified as a "bomber","fighter", etc. Size: 15½" wingspan and 10½" long fuselage. Sold: Jun. 2011
